The new boutique hotel is the brainchild of David Laxer, son of restaurant icon Bern Laxer and owner of Tampa's famed Bern's Steakhouse, who wanted to create a hotel that would reflect his passion for fine food and wine.Together with Tampa-based Mainsail Lodging and Development, they are creating a foodie mecca, where guests can indulge their culinary appetites to the fullest before heading upstairs to the comfort of a Marriott Autograph Collection room to sleep off their excesses.

The culinary theme continues with the "Epicurean Theatre" where guests become students to learn everything from wine aromas to Super Bowl party cooking techniques.Well-known and celebrated experts are being brought to Tampa from all over to lead fascinating explorations into the world of good food and drink.Speaking of drinks, the Epicurean does not stop at creating an amazing food experience;there are also many opportunities to try signature cocktails made by expert mixologists at the rooftop bar,or sample the wine suggestions of master sommeliers while shopping onsite at Bern's Fine Wine and Spirits.
The Epicurean has developed a recipe for creating a hotel that connoisseurs of fine food, wine and spirits will love.Combining luxurious accommodations, gourmet restaurants, unique spaces to socialize and learn, and a world-class spa, they have brought together all the ingredients needed to "awaken senses unknown."
