In the more than four years since the celebration of music first began, the crowds have grown to thousands.Locals no longer need to mark their calendars;they seem to instinctively know when it is Music Walk and come out in droves.
It's been a big boost to local businesses, which stay open later to accommodate the crowds. In addition, the walk is a great way for music lovers to be exposed to types of music they might not normally listen to.
You'll hear bands, trios and individuals performing musical genres such as jazz, country, metal and everything in between. If you don't like what you hear, you simply move on to the next stop. The event is free, making it even easier to move in between venues.
While live music on the weekends is standard operating procedure for manyrestaurantsand bars, even the establishments that stay away from entertainment join in the fun when it's time for Music Walk.
And it's not just the bars churning out cool tunes, but also galleries like Reverie & Rock,a space that only opens for music and art walks.Art Walk is a similar event taking place the first Friday of the month.Among other works, this gallery features photographs of famous musicians and rock stars.

The prestigious Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center also hosts a variety of bands and occasionally plans an open mic night during Music Walk for attendees who feel inspired to do more than just listen to the entertainment.
Patio de Leon is a popular courtyard area in the center of downtown, surrounded by restaurants and bars.During every Music Walk,a stage is set up for full bands, giving them plenty of space to entertain the crowds.Otherwise for the outdoor scene, you'll find musicians in random spots, along the sidewalks, tucked under store overhangs or in the alleyways, playing for tips.
Passers-by absorbing the energy of all of this live entertainment spontaneously dance, sing, clap or simply close their eyes and nod their heads to the rhythms. The party continues late into the evening,so if you're looking for a close place to lay your head,Hotel Indigois a fantastic option, occasionally offering special rates. In addition, the hotel has a rooftop bar with, you guessed it,live music.
