Grouse Mountainis open year-round,and there's something unique to do there each season.But it's the cold season that Vancouverites love dearly.From downtown,the snow-capped mountains invite snow bunnies to frolic amongst the winter wonderland in the sky.Grouse can be accessed easily from downtownVancouvervia public transportation or a short drive in your vehicle.And althoughWhistleris a popular ski location,Grouse is a great alternative if you're pressed for time and can't do the longer drive up to Whistler.

Grouse's annual 24 Hours of Winter event will take place February 8-9,2014,and this is your chance to ski as the sun goes down (or comes up) since the hills will be open for 24 hours.This is a really neat way to enjoy night skiing.In fact,all of Grouse will be open for those 24 hours and you can enjoy a torch relay to celebrate the Olympics in Sochi,a kid's hockey tournament,snowshoeing,shopping and dining.
Skiing isn't the only thing going on up on Grouse: hop on a sleigh ride while you're there!Not only is it fun,but also it's complimentary with your Grouse Mountain admission,membership,winter pass or lift ticket.Sleigh rides run every day during the winter months (usually late November to April) and take off is behind Santa's Workshop.
The snow limo is another awesome experience.Guests have their own snow limo chauffeur to guide them through trails and show them sights you wouldn't normally be able to see,while taking it easy in a comfortable and gravity-powered snow limo.Choose from four tours that range between 15 and 60 minutes in length.
Skating is a Canadian past-time - whether it's hockey,figure skating or a leisurely skate on the rink.Grouse's skating rink in the sky is a special way to experience skating and the 8,000-square-foot ice skating pond means you have plenty of room to show off your skills.
Lastly,strap on some snowshoes and take to the trails of Blue Grouse Loop and Whistler Water Way.These serene trails are appropriate for beginners and intermediates.Equipment rentals are available from the Fireside Hut.
Grouse Mountain is a wonderland that offers you a complete winter experience without having to venture too far from the city.
